Not only is August Burns Red a body slammin’ great band, they’re also a 2 time Grammy-nominated band, with what has to be one of the most consistent lineups in all of “metalcore.” The same quintet has been thrumming along since 2006, with most of the members still OG’s. This continuity has really been great in keeping the band at the forefront of the scene, and has led to 10 studio albums, aforementioned Grammy nominations, and countless miles on the road, bringing the metal to you!

I quoted metalcore previously, because I don’t like how confining the term can be. ABR especially do not squarely fit in this genre, as they are constantly adding new elements to their music, from time signature changes to cellos and violins. I’ve been able to see them a couple times previously even though I’ve never been a super fan (RIP Warped Tour/I love catching opening acts!), and have always left at the end of the night absolutely drained, but in the best kind of way, covered in other people’s sweat and voice broken from screaming along. Here’s a couple of my favorites of theirs:
